Welcome to class page- 4G

 

What we are learning this half term:

 

English- In English this half term, we will be immersing ourselves in the book' 'The whale.' The children will be learning how to use fronted adverbials, expanded noun phrases, alternative nouns, similies and inverted commas for speech.

Maths- In maths, we will be looking at place value, numbers upto 10,000 and addition and subtraction. 

Science- We will be learning about states of matter, solids, liquids and gases and how each state can change.

History- Over the next eight weeks, we will be studying the Roman Empire.

Geography- We will be learning all about the River Rhine.

Religion- We will be learning about the family of Jesus and the gospel.

PSHE- In PSHE, we will be learning 'All about me in this World.'

PE- We have the pleasure of LFC coaches training the children every Thursday.

Art- We will be looking at artists Irywn and Marten Jansen and how they create mood using colour. Children will create a self portrait evoking their personality. This can be viewed during out 'Art showcase' on Wednesday 8th October at 3.30pm.

Music- Children have the opportunity to start learning how to play either the viola, Violin or cello every Monday afternoon. 

 

Homework- Children to complete TTRS for 10 minutes every night to prepare them for their MTC in May/June 2026.

Your child has been given a reading record and a reading book at their level and should read every night. Children should bring in their reading records every Thursday to be stamped.
