Welcome to our class page.

What we are learning this half term:

English - in English this half term, we will be immersing ourselves in the text 'Rose Blanche'  The children will be learning how to write a diary and a speech using clear structure, persuasive language and powerful vocabulary. This work will help us develop empathy, creativity and confidence in our writing and speaking.

Maths - in maths we will be building our skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We will also be investigating prime numbers and how they link to patterns in maths.

Science - this term we will be studying Animals Including Humans with a focus on the human circulatory system.  We'll discover how the heart, lungs and blood all work together to keep us alive and healthy.

Geography - in Geography we will be exploring Energy and Climate Change. We will discover the different types of energy and how it is used. We will also think about ways we can look after the Earth for the future.

History - we will be looking at the fascinating world of the Maya civilisation - discovering their culture, beliefs and achievements.

Religion - in religion we are learning about Sikhism and the teaching of the gurus, exploring their messages of faith, equality and service to others.

PSHE - our next topic is 'Being me in my world', learning about ourselves, our place in the world and how we can make a positive difference in our class and community.

Art - we will be learning how to draw an eye. This will include shape, shading and light. The work will be showcased in our Art Exhibition, giving everyone a chance to see what we have learned.

PE - our PE lesson is on a Thursday with LFC Foundation. Please ensure your child wears the Banks Road PE kit on this day.

Music - this lesson is on a Tuesday where children will continue to learn to play their chosen instrument. Children are required to bring their chosen instruments in on this day. They will also be performing their pieces as part of an orchestra.
