What are we learning this half term?

English – This half term, we will be exploring The Promise by Nicola Davies. The children will be writing a character narrative and creating their own bargain letter.

Maths – In maths, we will be focusing on decimals, percentages and statistics.

Science – Our science topic this half term is Living Things and Their Habitats.

History – We will be learning about Norse culture, exploring how the Norse people lived and what their beliefs were.

Geography – In geography, we will be studying North and South America.

RE – Our RE topic is Christianity: A study of two Christian sites.

PSHE – Please see the attached overview for our PSHE curriculum this year.

DT – This half term in DT, we will be learning about celebrating culture and seasonality in food.

PE – PE will take place on Thursdays. Our focus this half term is swimming.

Music – Every Tuesday, Year 5 will continue practising their string instruments. Please ensure children bring their instruments to school on this day.
