What are we learning this half term?

Summer 1

English – This half term, we will be exploring The Lost Book of Adventure. The children will be writing a survival narrative and a survival guide.

Maths – In maths, we will be focusing on statistics, shape, and position and direction.

Science – Our science topic this half term is Earth and Space.

History – We will be delving deeper into Norse culture, focusing on rulers and the changing world.

Geography – In geography, we will be studying The Amazon.

RE – Our RE topic is Buddhism 1: The Prince Who Became the Buddha.

PSHE – Please see the attached overview for our PSHE curriculum for this year.

DT – This half term in DT, we will be learning about electricity and creating our own electrical circuits.

PE – PE will take place on Wednesday. Our focus this half term is exploring striking and fielding.

Music – Every Tuesday, Year 5 will continue practising their string instruments. Please ensure children bring their instruments to school on this day.
