Mr Reilly
Welcome to our class page - 4R St. George's Hall
About Our Class
English
Our vehicle text this half term is Arthur & the Golden Rope by Joe Todd-Stanton. We will be using this to study myth narratives and information texts and producing versions of our own.
Maths
We will be learning about multiplication and division, including factors, multiplying and dividing 10 and 100, related facts and informal written methods.
We will also focus on length and perimeter of different shapes.
Opening Worlds Humanities
This half term, we will be focusing on Roman Britain in History, building on our work in the autumn term of the Roman Republic and Roman Empire. We will be using our prior knowledge to focus on how the Romans then affected where we live!
In Geography, we will be focusing on Coastal Processes and Landforms. We will be looking at how erosion and other coastal processes create landforms and shape the coastlines that we live on!
R.E. follows on from our previous topics of the Family of Jesus and the Birth of Jesus. We will be studying the Life and Teachings of Jesus. We will be hearing Bible stories of miracles and parables alongside other Bible stories regarding key events in Jesus' life.
Science
Our Science topic for this half term is Sound. Pupils will learn to:
- identify how sounds are made, associating some of them with something vibrating
- recognise that vibrations from sounds travel through a medium to the ear
- find patterns between the pitch of a sound and features of the object that produced it
- find patterns between the volume of a sound and the strength of the vibrations that produced it
- recognise that sounds get fainter as the distance from the sound source increases
