The Thrive Approach

At Banks Road Primary School, we are committed to supporting the social and emotional development of every child. To help us achieve this, we use The Thrive Approach, a whole-school framework designed to promote positive mental health, resilience, and emotional well-being.
The Thrive Approach helps children understand and manage their feelings, develop healthy relationships, and build the skills they need to succeed both in school and in life. It is based on neuroscience, attachment theory, and child development research, and it provides practical strategies for staff to support pupils at different stages of their emotional growth.
By embedding Thrive into our daily practice, we aim to:
Create a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels valued.
Support children in developing confidence, self-regulation, and resilience.
Work in partnership with families to ensure consistent emotional support.
Our Thrive Practitioner

Ms Barnes works closely with pupils, staff, and families to:
Assess individual needs using Thrive tools.
Plan and deliver tailored activities to help children feel safe, secure, and ready to learn.
